This policy explains what information christophersnelling.com collects, how it is used, and your rights regarding that information. This is a personal website and newsletter — data collection is minimal by design.

What I collect

The only personal information this site collects is your email address, and only if you choose to subscribe to the newsletter. Subscribing is entirely optional.

No account registration, no contact forms, and no other personal data is collected directly by this site.

How your email is used

Your email address is used solely to send you the newsletter — new posts and occasional updates related to technology, marketing, and related topics. It will not be sold, rented, or shared with third parties for marketing purposes.

Newsletter platform: Beehiiv

Newsletter subscriptions are managed by Beehiiv, a third-party email platform. When you subscribe, your email address is transmitted to and stored by Beehiiv. Beehiiv acts as a data processor on my behalf and is subject to its own privacy policy, which you can read at beehiiv.com/privacy.

Beehiiv may also load a tracking script (attribution.js) on this site to measure newsletter subscription attribution. This script may set cookies or collect anonymised data about how visitors arrive at the subscription form.

Analytics & cookies

This site uses Google Tag Manager to load Google Analytics, which collects anonymised data about how visitors use the site — including pages visited, time on site, and general location (country/city level). This data is used solely to understand site performance and improve content. No personally identifiable information is sent to Google Analytics.

Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to distinguish visitors and sessions. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all sites using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

The Beehiiv attribution script may also set cookies for the purpose described above.

Your rights

You have the right to:

• Unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link included in every newsletter email.
• Request deletion of your email address from the newsletter list by emailing me@christophersnelling.com.
• Ask what data is held about you by contacting me directly at the same address.

Data retention

Your email address is retained for as long as you remain subscribed to the newsletter. Upon unsubscribing or requesting deletion, your data will be removed from the mailing list.
